Welcome
Welcome to the website for the Translational Epigenetics Series.
Translational Epigenetics is a major new suite of print and digital books in the biomedical research reference literature led by series editor, Trygve O. Tollefsbol.
The series reviews advances in epigenetics and epigenomics, with an emphasis on clinical opportunity. The area of Translational Epigenetics deserves special consideration in what is otherwise a component of biological science because the origins of health and susceptibility to disease may in part be attributed to “epigenesis,” the differentiation programs that orchestrate when and where genes and their products are expressed within the genetic blueprint.
Many varied and complex molecular processes contribute to these programs, with products including transcription factors, chromatin regulators, histone modifications, and RNAs. Epigenetic mechanisms that control stem cell differentiation and organogenesis may also contribute to the biological response to endogenous and exogenous forms of stimuli that result in disease.
Written and edited by leading researchers, the series is primarily intended for researchers in genomics, epigenetics, and related biomedical disciplines at graduate level and above.
