At 9:02 a.m. on April 19,1995, a Ryder rental truck, which contained a massive amounts of explosives was detonated in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. This incident resulted in 168 people killed including 19 children. It remains the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in the U.S.

Timothy McVeigh was found guilty of the attack and sentenced to death. Three other conspirators associated with attack plead guilty to their involvements. Terry Nichols, is serving multiple life sentences, Michael Fortier was released into witness protection in January of 2006, and his wife was provided immunity in return for her testimony.

The group claimed that the reason for the attack was to retaliate for the Waco and Ruby Ridge Siege of 1993.
