Reviews of the Second Edition:

“The Second Edition of Women and Health is the most comprehensive and detailed information source on women’s health to date, synthesizing evidence from earlier and most recent literature. If you have worked through this book, you are literally updated on women’s health!”
---Prof.Dr.med. Elisabeth Zemp Stutz, Unit leader Society, Gender and Health, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, Switzerland

“This edition of Women and Health is awesomely comprehensive.  It covers not just the topics “traditionally” included under the rubric of women’s health (e.g., breast cancer, menopause, contraception) but topics central to an understanding of women’s health but often neglected in discussions of women’s health, such as the socioeconomic determinants of health and stress and health.  I was especially pleased to see chapters on “Complementary, Alternative, and Integrative Medicine,” “Intimate Partner Violence,” and “Irritable Bowel Syndrome.”
The organization of the book has many (actually 105) relatively short (no more than 13 pages) chapters and makes coverage of the topic for each chapter even. This approach to organization will facilitate use of chapters and blocks of material in teaching. “
