The single-pass process is operated in a steady state and described by the standalone program integrated into the Excell spread sheet. The computation is completed within abut 10 minutes using the procedure explained in Chapter 13, Section 13.15. The program calculates the performance of the electrodialyzer.

The feed-and-bleed process is also operated in a steady state and described by the standalone program integrated into the Excel spread sheet. The computation is carried out within about 15 - 25 minutes according the steps explained in Chapter 14, Section 14.7. The program calculates the performance of the electrodialyzer and circulation tank.

The batch process is operated in a non-steady state, thus it cannot be integrated into a standalone program. The computation is carried out according to the explanation in Chapter 15, Section 15.6 in the Excel spread sheet. The program computes the performance of the circulation tank. However, in order to operate the above computation, it is necessary to predetermine the eleven coefficients explained in Chapter 15, Section 15.4. The coefficients express the performance of the electrodialyzer.
