OPNET Software
Important Notice: OPNET was recently acquired by Riverbed Technology. Riverbed has replaced the OPNET IT GURU with Riverbed Modeler, which Riverbed makes available for free through their University Teaching Program. Register to download the Riverbed Modeler Academic Edition software.
Please be aware that some of the OPNET-based labs developed for the current edition of Computer Networks are not entirely compatible with the Riverbed software. These are the current confirmed issues:
- Some software menus are changed.
- There is no an option of running all scenarios of a simulation project with one click.
- Lab 1 Ethernet: The scalar file option is missing.
- Lab 6 RIP: The needed log reports are missing.
- Lab 8 BGP: The needed log reports are missing.
- Lab 14 VPN: The IP VPN Config is missing.
- Lab 15 Applications: The Application Characterization is missing.
