Dr. Hillel was awarded a patent for his invention of a novel method
to conserve soil moisture.
Daniel Hillel has published over 300 scientific papers embodying
his contributions to environmental science. He has authored and
edited 21 books, which have been adopted by many universities and
translated into twelve languages. The published results of his
research are widely regarded as definitive and are cited extensively
among the scientific and professional environmental literature.
Dr. Hillel was awarded a patent for his invention of a novel method
to conserve soil moisture. He is an elected Fellow of American
Association for Advancement of Science, American Geophysical Union,
American Agronomy Society, and American Soil Science Society, which
granted him a Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Hillel
is currently working with NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies
at Columbia University, where his research emphasizes a broad study
of global change.
