Table 1 Notes : Airbus Aircraft

Airbus Industrie is a consortium of European manufactures which was formed in 1970 to produce and market the A300 aircraft. Since then the range of aircraft has extended as shown in the table below. The current "advanced" version of the A300 offers a large capacity (max.375) wide-bodied, twin engined aircraft flying medium to long range routes (4000nm). The A310 smaller aircraft (max.280) using the same fuselage diameter. The A320 is a medium capacity (179 max.) short to medium range (2900nm) aircraft. The A319 and A321 are shortened (reduced to 125 seats in two classes), and stretched (increased to 185 seats in two classes) versions of the same aircraft. The A340 is the only four engined aircraft in the Airbus family. It offers about 300 seats over a 7000 nm range. The A330 was developed alongside the A340 having the same fuselage and wing geometrics, to offer a twin-engined alternative design with less range capability (4800nm). The A3XX is the description given to the very large aircraft (600+ seats) to compete with the proposed Boeing 747 stretch variants.
