Allied Signal
Engines produce a range of low power (16 - 32kN) engines for regional and business jets.
Allison Engines (part of the RR group) mainly produce
turboprop engines but also make the AE3007 turbofan used for smaller aircraft (eg.
EMB145). CFE is a joint venture company (Allied Signal and GE) to market the CFE738 engine
used on business jet aircraft.
Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), now part of the
United Technology Corp., are mainly known for their PT6 turboprop series of engines. They
also produce small 10-20kN thrust turbofan engines used to power the Cessna business jet
aircraft.
